Book Review: Inferno by Dan Brown

Inferno by Dan Brown- Ratings: 4/5

Dante’s death mask

Darkest place in hell reserved for those who maintain their neutrality in the time of moral crises- Dante Alighieri

Without doubt this is one of the finest historical fictions I have read. Inferno by Dan brown is a finest journey through roads of Florence to Istanbul “The museum of wisdom”. I must say I have been fan of Robert Langdon after “Angle v/s Demon” & “The Da Vinci Code” but this novel added another name of legacy of Robert Langdon and Dan Brown.

Robert Langdon

Dan has done an appreciable job in this book, by erecting the story around from minute details of Dante’s Inferno to Trans-human philosophy. He goes around all the way and chose his plot very carefully. The most important part of Dan Novel which I like most is that when I am reading it, I know this place exists. When he purposes a theory or fictional story I can assume it has chance to turn into reality.

The most specific part of this novel is that Dan tried to create a hero which ways are wrong for right cause. His way of moving the story is enormous.

Dante’s Map of Hell

He also tried to solve the puzzle and this get him into another puzzle which belongs to Venice. Than story move to Istanbul, a dark truth comes that his leads moving to him towards an apocalyptic plague which is going to expose very soon. His race against time is very beautifully laid by Dan brown.

About Book

With 600 pages this can be long novel to read. But it is worthy novel to read. Moreover, work of Dan brown and imagination of his character intelligence is brilliant in this. I can see few loop holes in this books. Like over description of Turkey spice bazar, Venice water route and Dante mask. But somehow I cannot stop me praising him for adding trans-human concept and WHO figures in old Dante’s divine comedy. Dan Brown vision is path breaker in this novel from previous one. Few can be conflicting with me by thinking that it has almost same plot as his others book have. But here very few people will realized that hero of this novel is not Robert Langdon but the biologist who created the plague. It’s seems sometime that the vision of villain is more perfect than all character in story.

Moreover, Dan tried to maintain the suspense till the end. Even before reading last two pages you can expect the turn in situation. Novel has written in great details in term of describing artifacts, locations and others documents.

Few chapters of this book will throw you a deep world of an organization who create realities for people and you really forced to think that “Are you living in real world with real incident?” or certainly may be you will feel that things around you are propaganda or realities. Dan brown writings are expert in creating things so magical around you that, you could be believed into this.

The Blue Mosque , Turkey

I have personally asked one of christen friend that, Is really Jesus married to merry after reading the Da Vinci code” and he laugh at my face. I know it’s stupid, but what the harm into falling a debate which non-lethal. Similar, Robert is one of fictional character with whom I would like to work (in fictional world to solve some mysteries).

Things which I like Most

  • Flaw less explanation and description of location, artifacts and information.
  • Brilliantly woven story around Florence, Venice and Istanbul.
  • Perfect way to putting character into the plot and lots of suspense.

Things which I want do not like

  • You can find lengthy and bored description, specially people like me who has live their life in box has really hard to imagine the places. Thanks Google Image 🙂
  • Sometime Dan falls into his own vision of book, the story moves and take trun so dramatically that its lose out hook on reader. I felt that when I found that all hospital action was a seen.
